Derek M. Hansen
Derek is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has been working with athletes all ages and abilities in speed, strength and power sports since 1988. He has worked closely with some of the top performers in the world as a coach and a consultant – including Olympic medalists, world record holders, Canadian National team athletes, and professional athletes from numerous sports. The scope and breadth of his work with both teams and athletes in the NFL, NBA, MLS, NHL and MLB is unprecedented. He worked as the first Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Simon Fraser University for 14 years, the only non-US member of the NCAA. He also serves as a performance consultant to numerous NCAA Division 1 programs throughout North America, specializing in speed development, strategic performance planning, return-to-competition protocols and neuromuscular electrical stimulation programming. His work with electrical stimulation and central nervous system recalibration has been applied at all levels of physical preparation, recovery, return to competition and chronic pain. When not working with athletes, Derek is lecturing, conducting workshops and providing world-class educational opportunities for coaches, physical therapists and fitness professionals.
