I’ve been saying for years not to roll your IT Band. First of all it hurts like heck! Secondly, you could hang a car off it, it’s not meant to be stretched! You stretch/IMS/massage tensor fascia latae and all gluteals to “release” ITB: “Their detailed analysis confirmed that the iliotibial band itself is extremely rigid and resistant to stretch, since it lengthened less than 0.2 percent with a maximum voluntary contraction.
